Bedding For A Couple's Master Bedroom

A little girl's bedroom is typically pink and with flowers
and lace while a boy's bedroom is dark blue with trains
or football helmets. Children grow, get married and share
a master bedroom. What kind of decor and bedding is right
when society programs the couple with two very different
tastes in bedroom furnishings?
Armed with these learned preferences, the couple must decide
how to approach the design of the shared space. Not only is
the decor in question, but also the bedding preferences.
But bedding designers understand this dilemma well and
often provide design choices with a wide appeal.
An excellent way to begin the search for bedding is to look
at bedding catalogs. Pictures and sample layouts will help
the new couple to get ideas of what goes together as
well as what they each prefer. For example, she might like
the look and feel of a quilt while he might think that a
comforter would be a great choice. By looking at catalogs,
the couple can reach some kind of consensus before ever
leaving home and shopping.
Another thing the couple needs to agree on is a budget for
bedding for the master bedroom. Sheets are an expensive
item, especially for a queen or king size bed. If you are
buying blankets and a bed covering as well, the total
expenditure may be more than you planned on. This is where
advanced planning helps to make certain that you stay within
your budget.
After looking at catalogs and consulting your budget, if
you don't agree on a plan for the bedding, then obviously
some kind of compromise will be necessary. But a
compromise on bedding should be rather easy to accomplish
because there's just such an assortment of styles and
fabrics to choose from. You can mix and match solids,
stripes and prints to achieve any type of look that you
want.
Within the past few years a duvet set has become a popular
way to make up a stylish bed. A duvet is a combination
bed cover and comforter that comes with a set of matching
sheets and pillow cases. Everything for the bed comes in
one package. A duvet set is often a cost-effective way to
decorate the bed.
It is helpful to remember that the master bedroom is a
shared space so both people should have a say in how this
room looks and feels. Make sure that this room isn't too
feminine or too masculine in its overall look and feel.
Bedding designers are aware of this subtlety and provide
designs and fabrics with a wide appeal. While it may take
some time to find the bedding that has the right look, the
effort will be worthwhile.
Trying to mesh personality with bedding can be a bit tricky.
Here are a list of general bedding adjectives that can help
both of you identify preferences: "airy and free",
"cheerful and loud", "toasty and comfy", "crisp and cool",
"wealthy and elegant", and "fun and crazy".
After considering both points of view and some of these
hints, you and your mate should be able to find bedding
that both of you will enjoy on a daily basis.
